Meet Pastor Marcus

Marcus grew up in a Christian home complete with daily family devotions and short-term mission trips. Marcus’ education included graduating from Christian high school and several years of Christian college. After a 4-year enlistment in the U. S. Army, Marcus graduated from the College of Charleston with a Business degree. The number of Bible courses he had prior to the military granted him a minor in Bible. 

 

He primarily utilized his secular education in commercial construction and restaurant management. He utilized his Bible minor as a Christian school teacher, guest speaker for Bible conferences, Sunday school teaching, and as a missionary in Latin America. 

 

Marcus and Lisa were married with their hearts set on Christian service. Their commitment to ministry and to the Lord’s call led them to Honduras where Lisa supervised a children’s home and Marcus pastored a church. Since their return to the United States, Marcus has been mentoring pastors and encouraging ministry in East Africa, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia. He is grateful for the technology that allows him ongoing, regular access to these areas of the world. He has a daily devotional that reaches into these countries, encouraging Christians there and in the United States. Marcus’ focus is on the Scripture. He utilizes Scripture to create life application sermons, short messages, and devotionals.

 

He has been pastor of FBC Lake Monroe since Mother’s Day of 2025.
